Need Help Moving Around? Your Chiropractor Can Help!

By Stephen R. Farris

Exercise is a good way to help improve your overall core, which means a stronger back and midsection. Not only is exercise good for your core, but for your overall physical health as well. Most of the time we don't always get in a workout, due to our busy schedule in this game called life.

Work gets in the way, school takes up our time, and taking care of a home and family can really dip into any extra time we might have during the day. If you sit for long periods of time throughout the day at work or school, this can lead to weakness in your lower back and in your legs. Getting in some type of movement each day is better than not moving at all.

What if I told you, despite your busy schedule, that you could get in a little exercise just by getting out of bed in the mornings, while at work, and just a few minutes or so when you get home? Well, get ready to get moving!

Stretch It Out

When you wake up in the morning, instead of turning on the television to catch the morning news, try doing a few stretching exercises to help wake your body up and get your blood circulating. It only takes a few minutes. Then you can go about your morning routine. Don't forget to check the weather before heading out though.

Park in the Back

Instead of searching for a parking spot close to the door at your job, school, or grocery store, try parking as far away as possible. Sure, it might take a little extra time to reach your destination, but you'll also get in some extra steps each time that you might not have otherwise.

Skip the Elevator

If you work in an office building with lots of floors, you might find it easy -- like the rest of us -- to push the button and step inside the elevator to get to your floor. Instead of taking the easy way to your floor, use the stairs to get a little cardio exercise in.

There are plenty of options to keep moving. Your local chiropractor is always available to help you with your health, wellness, and fitness goals. So don't hesitate to ask him/her any questions you might have. They might just have the perfect tip or suggestion to help get you moving on the right track.
