3 Beverages to Stop Drinking Now

By Virginia Laird

It is no secret that the best beverage for your health is water, plain and simple. It is recommended that you should consume at least half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. Still, with this information, there are millions who prefer to rely on a host of alternative beverages hoping for the same results. While these other drinks may provide more for your taste buds, they can put a damper on your wellness. A few beverages that health and wellness experts suggest you give up include, and why:

  • Soda is completely unhealthy
  • Juices are loaded with sugar
  • Alcohol offers no benefits to your health

Soda is Completely Unhealthy

Other than the crisp, sweet taste of soda, there is little to enjoy. Research suggests that a soda offers no nutritional value and can wreak havoc on your overall wellness. Much of the time carbonation is a contributor to the slowing of the metabolism and causes bloating in the body. It has also been proven that carbonation is hard on your organs. Another reason to give up soda is that regular soda is also full of calories and sugar. Meanwhile, diet soda is full of chemicals that have been linked to many diseases, including some cancers.

Juices Are Loaded With Sugar

Although juice can be quite tasty, it too is loaded with sugar. Any beverage that is loaded with sugar is also a contributor to weight gain. This is especially true for juice. Most juices add an enormous amount of sugar to your diet. Rather than endlessly consuming juice, it is best to avoid them. If you are a lover of juice and simply cannot give it up, it is best to look for juice that has no added sugar. An even better juice to choose is one that is organic and all-natural. Start making healthier choices with your juice selection right away.

Alcohol Offers No Benefits to Your Health

Alcohol, although tasty for some and tempting after a long day of work, has been linked to many health concerns. Alcohol is a contributing factor to heart disease and high blood pressure. It is also a highly addictive substance which can cause many other health issues. Rather than relying on an adult beverage every day, make sure you find something that might offer more healthy benefits.

Although giving up these beverages may be difficult, making the change now is best for your wellness.
