Healthy Foods That Your Kids Will Actually Eat

By Genevieve Cunningham

Getting kids to eat healthy can be an absolute chore. It seems as though all kids want to eat is chicken nuggets, french fries, and sweets. And getting them to branch out of their usual menu and try something new? Forget about it. Of course, keeping your kids healthy is important, and a good diet is a big part of that. To help expand your child's diet and keep their menu as healthy as possible, take a look at these kid-approved healthy foods to try today.

Berries

Berries are so delicious. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries. They're sweet and juicy, but still healthy. Kids will like the bold color, and over time, they'll learn to love the flavor. Like all new foods, just keep offering, even if your kids refuse. Most kids will eventually give it a try, and you'll have a brand new healthy food on the menu.

Yogurt

Yogurt can be a great food for kids because it's full of healthy probiotics. Your gut needs good bacteria. The good bacteria encourages good digestion and also helps to keep the bad bacteria in check. Offer some yogurt to help keep this balance alive and well, and your child's gut will thank you.

Milk

There's a lot of controversy about milk. Some swear by its benefits while others swear it's unhealthy. But most of the controversy is in regards to adults. For kids, milk is still seen as a power drink. Why? Because of its calcium content. Calcium is essential to your child's growing bones and teeth. Offer your kids lots of milk -- and put chocolate in it if you have to. For kids, milk still does a body good.

Eggs

The great thing about eggs is that there are multiple ways to cook them. Scramble them, fry them, boil them. Different kids might like them in different ways. It might take a few introductions before your kids give them a fair shot, but keep trying. Eggs are full of protein and great for growing kids.

It can certainly be challenging to get your kids to eat healthy food. But it doesn't have to be impossible. It will take time, and you'll definitely have to experiment, but it will be so worth it! Use these foods as starting points, and you'll have a brand new healthy kid menu in no time at all.
