Have A Water on Us; We Sponsor Gigi's Cupcakes 5K

The Joint Chiropractic's mission is to improve quality of life through routine and affordable chiropractic care. We believe that part of a healthy lifestyle includes exercise and enjoy promoting events that promote healthy living, especially in our own community! The Joint Chiropractic - Brier Creek is proud to be a water station sponsor at the Gigi's Cupcakes 5K that will take place on Saturday, October 14, beginning at 8 a.m., outside Gigi's Cupcakes.

This beginner 5K is a great opportunity to explore Brier Creek Commons and to work out at the same time. This is a fun way to exercise and participants of all ages can choose to run or walk. Either is good exercise that is wholly endorsed by your chiropractor.

Gigi's Cupcakes 5K benefits a great cause, the Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. In 2015, Gigi's Cupcakes donated $10,000 from the 5K to Make-A-Wish Eastern NC! Make-A-Wish's mission is "to grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy." Make-A-Wish Eastern NC has granted more than 3,300 wishes since being founded in 1986. Make-A-Wish Eastern NC covers 49 counties in eastern North Carolina.

This will be the 4th annual Gigi's Cupcakes 5K. In 2016, there were 1,300 runners of all ages. Of the participants, 75 percent were female and 49 percent were between ages 30-59. Children enjoyed the 5K as well, as 20 percent of the participants were under age 12. Gigi's Cupcakes 5K is a fun family event that has a reward at the end for everyone to look forward to. Participants will be greeted at the finish line with a cupcake, medal and a T-shirt to commemorate the 5K.

There will be a post-race party that includes a live DJ, bounce house and face painting. After the race, don't forget to stop by The Joint at Brier Creek and get a post-race adjustment!
