Dr. Christopher Musso joined The Joint Chiropractic Brier Creek in Raleigh NC team on May 9, 2018. He is a recent arrival to North Carolina, originally hailing from Rochester, NY. He arrived in North Carolina on May 1, 2018 with his family, which includes a 1.5 year-old son.
Before becoming a Chiropractor, Dr. Musso studied in a variety of fields such as Education, Linguistics, and Science, to name a few. He graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 2011. He was a member of Phi Chi Omega Chiropractic Honor Society. He previously attended SUNY Brockport and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Dr. Musso is more than JUST a chiropractor, he brings lots of others experiences to the table.
Dr. Musso has a passion for different cultures and loves exploring new places. He has lived in India for about 4 months, Korea for about 3 months, and Japan for about 8 years. In fact, it is while he was living in Japan that he found his true passion for chiropractic care. A close friend introduced him to a gentleman that practiced a very ancient Japanese form of body manipulation, similar to chiropractic, and the rest is history! For the record, the first chiropractic treatment in the United States was in 1895. When Dr. Musso returned to the United States, he joined the prestigious New York Chiropractic College in New York State and graduated with honors in 2011.
During his studies, Dr. Musso became intrigued by the vast number of specialized Chiropractic treatment styles. In fact, there are over 100 named styles of Chiropractic methods, each with their own full set of treatment techniques. It may seem confusing, but this allows for more effective treatment of even more problems or issues. Dr. Musso has spent a lot of time building up his repertoire of treatment options by learning some of the lesser known Chiropractic styles. Dr. Musso’s familiarity with so many techniques allow him to select a suitable chiro treatment for almost any patient.
In his spare time, Dr. Musso enjoys trying to keep up with his many hobbies. He loves to ski and tries to hit the slopes whenever he has the chance. He also is trying to make an effort to keep up with his Japanese language skills, and when he has time, he is enjoying learning programming skills.
Dr. Joshua McMillon joined the team of local healthcare providers at The Joint Chiropractic with his arrival at the Brier Creek clinic location in 2020. A graduate of Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., he got his bachelor’s degree in physical education before becoming a doctor of chiropractic from University of Western States in Portland, Ore.
Dr. McMillon says the best thing about being in the chiropractic field is having an immediate impact on a person’s quality of life. “The other thing that is so gratifying,” he says, “is getting to know a wide range of people.”
Having worked previously in Wake Forest and Raleigh, Dr. McMillon enjoys time with his wife, daughter, and two sons. In addition to playing with the kids, he likes woodworking.
Dr. McMillon grew up in Southern California and found that chiropractic allowed him to follow his passion. “I really enjoy working with my hands and I really enjoy providing solutions to health problems,” he says. “With chiropractic, I realized I could combine both.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. McMillon appreciates a healthy diet. He says the one thing he always keeps stocked at home is mixed greens: “I use them for sandwiches, I put them in smoothies, and I enjoy a good salad.”
If he could bring together any four persons from history to create his dream dinner party, he would include Jesus Christ, author CS Lewis, pastor/author John Piper, and Christian comedian Tim Hawkins. “It’s the perfect combination of wisdom and entertainment,” he says.
The coolest thing Dr. McMillon has done took place during a real estate deal. “I was on a TV show called ‘Designed to Sell’ on HGTV,” he says. “I learned how TV shows are done and how fake they are.”
