Leave the Water on for Better Health
By Tom Herrin
Everything that involves making health the best it can be does not require a lot of sacrifice. Some things are really simple. One of those simple things is to drink plenty of water. While it sounds easy enough to say, many people struggle to get it done. It truly is the basic component of life. All living things require it, and when they fail to get enough, their health may suffer. In today's world, too many people skip for no reason and pay the price in the way of their health. Many times it is due to the fact that they have not acquired a taste for water but other drinks instead.
Water May Help the Body to Perform at Its Peak
Those who work with athletes are well aware that water is critical to performance. There were times in the past when they were not as informed. Many had the idea that doing without water developed a certain level of toughness. Coach Bear Bryant made the statement that he realized he drove the athletes at Texas A&M to a point of danger when he first instituted his tough training there.
It May Lessen or Prevent Headaches
Plenty of people suffer from some kind of headaches. They are pretty common and may be without any known cause. It has been found that some headaches may be prevented by drinking more water. Many are somewhat dehydrated without realizing it. Drinking more water may help to alleviate those headaches that are caused by this problem. While it has not shown to work on all headaches, one study showed that for those affected by hydration, they may have less severe headaches when they drink an adequate amount of water.
It May Improve Regularity
Many of us experience issues with constipation from time to time. While there may be several causes, such as a need for more fiber, drinking more water may be a good way to help avoid the problem. I try to make sure I drink a glass of water before I go to bed and when I get up in the morning. If I happen to wake up at night, I will drink some then as well as making certain to drink it throughout the day. In my case, I have problems with my blood being too thick, which is a common issue for people as they age. I make every effort to drink more water when I can.
