Listen to Your Body When Exercising

Exercising should be part of life for just about everyone.  Finding the right combination for what works and what doesn't can be the key to success or failure.  As people workout, it is important that they learn to be a good listener as well as a participant.  Going through the motions of the activity is very important, but that alone will not assure success.  Other factors are very much a part of being able to get the results that are desired.  Something that is well thought out is much more likely to meet expectations than something that is rushed in order to get what they feel will yield better results.

Learn the Language Your Body Uses

Whether people believe it or not, their body does talk to them.  If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.  Most everyone has had the experience of feeling that something is amiss at one time or another.  When they are working out, it is critical to get a feel as to whether or not something is as it should be.  Then they are too tired, that should be a reminder that some activities should be avoided.  When they feel they can go on forever, it may be one of those days in which everything is working well, and they really can do more.

Heat and Humidity Mean Something

Everyone knows that they will become heated when exercising.  It is important to remember there is a difference between simply heating up and becoming overheated.  If someone heats up too fast, it may be an indicator that they should be aware of risks they may encounter.  Heat alone is not the only thing to worry about.  Humidity is another thing that may be crippling.  Those who are not accustomed to exercising in higher humidity may quickly find themselves overcome and unable to function well.  This can be a big message for the body.  There is little room for error here.

Take Precautions and Enjoy the Time

If we have no joy in exercising, we are missing something.  While it may not all be fun and games, it should be tolerable.  It is true there is work involved, but we must not get ourselves injured at the same time.  If we listen to our bodies, we can have a productive session without worry about what we are doing to ourselves.  Tune in and feel better as a result.  I have learned that I can sense a lot of things that may make a difference in how well my workout goes.  If I will think about it and get the right feel, it can go well.  I can be more likely to make the effort to improve.
