Healthy Snacks for Your Kiddos

Getting your kids to eat healthy isn't always an easy feat. However, with some delicious options involved, you can rest assured that your kiddos will take to them quickly. Stop putting junk in the house and allow for healthier food versions to become commonplace in your household. It will make it easier for your children to want to grab a nutritional choice.
Peanut Butter
Peanut butter has a lot of calories, but it's also high in protein and can help keep you (and your kiddos) full. Allow them to enjoy a spoonful of peanut butter as a snack, or let them dip something in it. Celery and apples are two common health foods people eat with peanut butter.
Nuts
A handful of nuts can help your kiddos feel full as well. This may not be an ideal option for little ones, but older kids can choose a nut they like and consume it as a worthwhile snack. Pistachios are a good choice because they have a salty yet sweet flavor that many enjoy.
Smoothies
Smoothies make for an excellent child-approved treat. Let your young ones pick out some of their favorite ingredients and blend it all together to create a tasty and filling drink. This is a great option for breakfast as well if you need something quick to replace a meal. Greek yogurt and bananas make good bases for smoothies. Just add in spinach and more fruit for various flavors and nutrients.
Whole Grain Tortilla Chips
Buy some whole grain tortillas and make your own chips at home. You can get the salty, crunchy flavor you're looking for without having as many calories or carbs. Kids who enjoy eating chips can still get the taste they desire with this version. Add a homemade salsa for an even more nutritious snack option.
Tip: Let Them Choose Between Two Options
If you're struggling to get your kids to eat healthy, let them choose between two options. This way, they get to decide which one they'd rather have and feel as though they're making choices for themselves instead of you simply telling them what they must eat.
With some healthy, yet delicious snack ideas in mind, you can have an easier time getting your kids to eat them. As long as you switch up the selections from time to time, you should get your kids to stick with the healthy eating habits you're trying to instill in them.
