Chiropractic Can Help Many Kinds of Pain
By Paul Rothbart
Pain, unfortunately, is a part of life. It warns us that something is wrong and can also be an indicator that an injury is healing. Chronic pain is a different story. When pain lingers, something is wrong. There are, of course, many different kinds of pain. You could just reach for a pain-killing medication but that is a temporary solution and comes with problems of its own. You want to get to the cause of the pain. This is where chiropractic care can be very helpful.
Back Pain
One of the most common types of pain is back pain, especially in the lower part of the spine. Pain in the low back can be brought on by attempting to lift too much weight, improper lifting techniques, or poor posture. Any of these can cause a subluxation or a compressed disc that results in pain that doesn't go away. This is one of the things chiropractors do best. They can find the problem in an examination and make an adjustment to correct it. This can relieve your pain and may lessen the risk that it returns.
Neck Pain
A pain in the neck in the literal sense is also something experienced by many. Sleeping in a bad position with the neck curved, sitting in front of a monitor adjusted to the wrong height, and looking down at a phone or tablet for hours are common culprits. The vertebrae in your neck can also become compressed or subluxated and cause pain. Tension headaches are also common types of pain caused by neck issues. Just as with your back, problems in the neck can be found and adjusted by a chiropractor. This can relieve your neck pain and stop the tension headaches.
Joint Pain
Achy knees, sore shoulders, or pain in the hips. Sound familiar? Joint pain is also common and can occur due to overuse or even poor posture. Any of the body's joints can become subluxated. This can cause pain as well as make many activities more difficult. A chiropractic examination can find these problems. Just like the back and neck, adjustments can fix them and relieve your pain. A chiropractor treats the body as a whole and will get the entire spine and all of your joints working together the way they were designed to. Pain relief and a better functioning body can be the reward.
You will always experience pain occasionally. If it's frequent, consider a visit to The Joint Chiropractic. You don't need an appointment. You may find that seeing a chiropractor relieves your pain and helps feel ready to take on whatever life throws at you.
