Changing Your Life: Start With Your Health
By Genevieve Cunningham
We all have the power to change our lives. We don't always believe that, but it's true. If we don't like where we're at, we can work hard toward higher goals. But if you are seriously trying to change your life, it's possible that you feel overwhelmed. Where should you start? What should you do? Luckily, it doesn't have to be complicated. You should definitely take the guesswork out of it and start with your health! If you are in the process of truly transforming your life, take a look at these reasons why starting with your health makes perfect sense.
Your Health is the Most Important
It's hard to change your life if you don't feel good about yourself. If you feel rundown, sick, or just bad in your own skin, it's so much harder to stick with your goals and make things work in the long run. Your health is the most important and most powerful thing that you have, which is exactly why you should start with it first. You need the energy, the mental clarity, and everything else that comes with it. Don't count yourself out or sell yourself short. You matter! Put your health at the top of the list, and everything else will fall into place when it's time.
What Changes Can You Make?
If you're really ready and committed to putting your health first, there are some really simple changes that you can make. Start with a few simple ideas: Drink more water, cut dessert, and move every day. Once you've mastered these, you can move on to more complicated ideas: Lower your mile time, stick to a calorie deficit, and watch your sugar intake. But don't start too big. Keeping it small and attainable is the best way to reach your goals, move forward, and feel productive and successful in your endeavor.
It's really OK to put yourself first sometimes, and when it comes to your health, you shouldn't even apologize for it. Change your life, yes! But do it first by devoting some time and energy to your personal well-being. As you spend some time on yourself and see some changes, you may also notice that other aspects of your life begin to change as well. Stick with it, and you'll be steadily working toward the body and life you've always wanted.
