Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr Alex Thomas attended Slippery Rock University majoring in Exercise Science and playing on the men’s rugby team, working and volunteering at an equine-assisted therapeutic recreation center. Dr Alex is also an alumnus of highly acclaimed Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. During his time as a student and chiropractic intern at Sherman College Alex was active in giving back to his community by volunteering with the Knights of Columbus when he wasn't competing in rodeos throughout the state of SC. When he isn't busy serving patients at The Joint, Dr Alex enjoys spending his free time surfing, working out or entertaining his passion as an automotive enthusiast.
Dr. David M Smith has practiced Chiropractic for over 33 years. He graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 1985. Before joining the staff at the Joint, Dr. Smith practiced in Sterling Heights, Michigan his first 8 years of practice and has practiced in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina for the past 25 years.
Dr. Smith also served as an Adjunct Professor at Virginia College for 7 years. He taught Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pathophysiology, and Medical Law and Ethics. He is a past President of the Board of Directors for East Cooper Community Outreach in Mt. Pleasant, a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Skills for success course, and an accomplished Toastmaster.
Dr. Smith is married to his wife Melanie and has three children, 2 boys and a girl. He is a member of Seacoast Church and in his free time enjoys exercise, going to concerts and collecting old baseball cards. He is also an avid fan of all Detroit sports and Michigan Football.
Dr. Dave Colombo is originally from Long Island, NY and did his undergrad in Buffalo, NY. He finished with a degree in Health and Wellness from Buffalo State College and then moved to Greenville/Spartanburg, SC to get his chiropractic degree at Sherman College where he received his doctorate in 2016 and started with The Joint Wescott clinic. He plays ice hockey as a goaltender and has a big sports background which led him to his passion in the human body and how it works. Dr. Colombo is married to his wife Stephanie and enjoys spending time with their two rescue dogs.
