The Cran-Apple Trend and Why It's Good for You

Cran-Apple is the name of the cranberry and apple juice concoction created by Ocean Spray. While it may seem silly to some, the drink actually boasts a lot of great benefits. Cranberries and apples each possess their own nutritional qualities that make them great separately, yet even better together. Consume the two together from now on to reap the benefits.

Cranberries

Low in calories yet high in nutrients, cranberries make an excellent addition to any cup or plate. Whether it’s consumed as a beverage or eaten in a dish, cranberries pack a lot of punch. They work well to support immune health, decrease blood pressure, and even help with urinary health. Consuming the fruit regularly helps to improve overall health and brings many nutritional benefits to the body.

Apples

Apples have long been known as a beneficial fruit. Eat one each day and many ailments will stay away. Apples possess high amounts of fiber, helping the body to stay regular, while also having antioxidants that can reduce some of the risks of certain cancers. Heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension can even be fought off with a steady supply of apples. People don’t have to consume apples either to gain the benefits. There are benefits in the drink as well. Apple juice is said to assist with memory.

Together, the two fruits make a super concoction that provides countless benefits. Drink the bottled juice or make another mixture to be consumed. Either way, the two together will keep people healthy throughout the cold season. It also makes a great addition to any holiday party or gathering.

A cran-apple pie would be a healthy dessert to share. Two cups of cranberries and four cups of peeled apples will do the trick. Start with a homemade pie crust and add the apples. Spread the cranberries over top. Some cinnamon, sugar, and cornstarch needs to get mixed together and added to the pie to add the flavor and sweetness. Sugar can get substituted with organic honey to lessen the amount. A couple dollops of butter over the top and the second pie crust added and the pie will be fully created and ready to bake.

Whether someone wants to drink the Cran-Apple juice or create their own pie concoction out of cranberries and apples, the health benefits can be enjoyed. Nutrition matters greatly for people’s overall health, and the mixture of cranberries and apples only helps that. Consume some together or separate and get all the benefits they both have to offer.
