4 Fall Fitness and Food Options
By Brandi Goodman
Fitness and food go hand in hand when it comes to health. Getting fit won't make you healthy if you're still eating poorly. Eating nutritious foods won't be all it takes to maintain your well-being, either. You'll also need to get exercise. Consider some popular fitness and food options in the fall to start leading a healthier life while enjoying yourself at the same time.
Fitness: Attend Every Fall Event
Many fall events take place throughout the season. Attend every one that you can to get in as much exercise as possible. These events will have you walking from one end of the location to the other as you stop at the offerings in between. Walking is a great workout on its own. Add with it the activities you'll be participating in, from taking a hayride to carving a pumpkin, and possibly even making your way through a corn maze, and you'll burn even more calories.
Food: Pumpkin
Pumpkin is the food of the fall. Many people simply choose to carve theirs and leave it outside as a decoration. You should be using what you dug out from inside of it to make into meals. Pumpkin packs a lot of nutrition. Both the pumpkin itself and the seeds provide benefits. You'll get plenty of fiber and vitamins.
Fitness: Take a Walk
A walk is a great exercise option in the fall. Take a walk along a trail and see the beauty of nature all around you. You'll get to explore what looks like a new area due to all the changes made since the summer. The bright colors of orange and red are a perfect representation of the fall season. Walking helps you burn calories, improve your mood, and enhance your lower body strength.
Food: Apples
Apples are another typical fall offering. Many people head to an orchard to pick apples since they're plentiful in autumn. You can eat them plain or dice them into a meal to gain their nutrition. Apples are high in fiber, Vitamin C, and antioxidants. There's a reason there's a popular saying about apples keeping the doctor away. They offer your body a lot of good.
Diet and exercise both play a role in your health. Consider this during the fall season when you're making decisions regarding which activities to do and which foods to eat. Lots of great options are available that can lead you down the path of wellness.
