Better Weather is Coming! Get Ready With These Tips
By Genevieve Cunningham
The cold weather can be incredibly depressing. When the weather is poor, we're more likely to be stuck indoors. We're less likely to get exercise. We're less likely to get sunshine. And as a result, our bodies suffer a little throughout the colder months. While this isn't the worst thing in the world, as the warmer weather approaches, we start to panic. Will we be ready? Will our bodies look good? Will we be confident? Luckily, the answer to all of these questions can be a big yes! If you want to get ready for the warmer weather ahead, take a look at these tips to start now.
Start Improving Your Diet Now
Too many people wait until the last minute to start improving their overall diet. When the warm air blows in, they panic into eating better. But by this time, you've lost valuable time! If you want to feel good by the time spring is here in full force, start focusing on a healthy diet right now. Switch to fresh fruit, vegetables, and lean protein. Switch to more water and less soda. The sooner you improve your diet, the sooner you'll see changes in your body composition, and the more confident you'll be when the warm weather arrives.
Get in Some Movement
Much in the same way that you should start eating better right now, you should also start moving right now. Get some exercise. Walk, run, stretch, lift. It will take a few weeks to really see results from exercise, so if you start now, you may have slimmer legs and stronger arms by the time shorts and tank tops take over the masses.
Focus on Improving Your Skin
Warmer weather means that more of your skin is going to show. Normal, right? But if more skin is going to show, you're going to want to feel good about that skin. Make sure your cleansing routine is solid. Make sure you're moisturizing multiple times per day. Make sure you're already in the habit of drinking water and applying sunscreen. If you start caring for your skin right now, you'll feel ready to go on the first sunny day.
There's something about warm weather that is irresistible. It's inviting. It boosts our mood and makes us feel more positive about life. But if you're not ready for it, it might cause you some stress! Use these tips to start getting ready right now, and enjoy the boost in confidence on the first day of spring.
