Slow Paced Exercises for the Slow Paced Fitness Crowd

Though many people love the challenge of an intense workout, not everyone is cut out for hardcore sweat sessions. Lots of people would rather take a slow and relaxed approach to exercise, and this is completely OK. Low-impact exercises are still great for sculpting the body, improving cardio, and enhancing overall health. But what kinds of exercises can be included in this group? And if you’re already into low-impact exercise, how can you change up the routine now and again? If you like nice and easy yet effective exercise, take a look at these workouts to add to the mix.

Yoga

This workout is an obvious choice for those wanting a slow paced but super effective workout. Yoga allows you to ease into deep stretching, elongate the muscles and ligaments, and still challenge the body to become stronger and more fit. And to make it even easier, there are modifications that allow you to move at your own pace. Join a class at your local gym, and reap some big benefits in your life.

Walking

This is too easy, right? Not necessarily. Walking can be an excellent exercise to keep in your routine. It helps build muscles and burn fat, and it improves cardiovascular health, too. It can also be easily modified to meet your specific needs. Need something more difficult? Go uphill or walk faster. Swimming can be as relaxing or as intense as you want. Just alter your speed and stroke to make it fit your particular needs. You don't have to work out super hard and fast in order for it to be effective. High intensity and fast-paced simply isn't for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with that.
