We're well into spring which means that, at least in the south, summer isn't far behind at all. This is the time of year when we break out shorts and tank tops. We start seeing flip-flops and pedicured toes. And it won't be long at all until swimsuits begin to make their appearance everywhere we look. Are you ready? If you'd like to get your body (and mind) prepared for swimsuit season ahead, take a look at these tips to begin now.

Increase Your Cardio

Cardio is for burning calories. If you want to lose a little weight before summer, you'll definitely need to burn more calories. Pick up jogging, hop on the elliptical machine, or join an aerobics class. But make sure that you work hard and break a sweat! Increasing your cardio movement can make you drop weight -- and fat! -- faster to get you ready for your favorite suit.

Lift Weights

Along with dropping weight, you'll also need to tone up. This can only be done by sculpting away fat and building strong muscle. Lifting weights can help with both. When combined with cardio, lifting weights can help speed up the fat burning process. And when we lift, we challenge the muscles, which makes them grow.
