Dr Daniel McMahan attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma completing a bachelor’s degree in biology. He continued his education in Kansas City attending Cleveland Chiropractic College graduating in 2004. After graduating, Dr. McMahan moved to Kingsport, TN where he opened his own practice. In 2008 he then moved to Maryville area where he has served the community as a Chiropractor. Dr. McMahan is married to his wife Lehla and they have two wonderful children. They attend church, scouting and sports with their children as well as volunteer work that keeps them active in the community. The McMahan family also includes two dogs, three cats, three rabbits, several fish, and occasional fostered animals. As a family they also enjoy mineral collecting by taking trips to surrounding states to look for rubies, garnets, geodes, fossils and more.

Dr. Michael Muscari began his journey as a local healthcare provider at The Joint Chiropractic in Johnson City but joined the Sevierville clinic location in June 2022 to continue doing the work he finds so rewarding.

“I love helping people get back to doing the activities they really want to do,” he says. “Having the ability to alleviate pain and discomfort without the use of medications is amazing. The great thing about being a chiropractor is we can perform our jobs anywhere -- no special tools or equipment needed. And it comes in handy on vacations.”

Dr. Michael, as his patients call him, worked previously in Knoxville and Cleveland, Tenn., and Atlanta. He was raised in Morristown, Tenn., and attended University of Tennessee, where he took a bronze medal in the 2010 SEC diving championships -- but only after a chiropractor helped him overcome an injury.

He and his wife, a traveling intensive care nurse, love traveling. They have two dogs and two cats, and in his spare time, Dr. Michael likes working on cars and motorcycles, and playing sports with his younger and older brothers.

After getting his bachelor’s degrees in psychology and exercise science at UT, Dr. Michael earned his doctorate from Life University in Marietta, Ga.

“After my time as an athlete, I explored several opportunities, including MD, osteopath, and physical therapist, but none were as fulfilling as chiropractic or what I can do with my degree,” he says.

In Case You Didn’t Know

If he could bring together any four people from history for his ideal dinner party, Dr. Michael would love to sit down with actors Betty White and Jason Statham, President Ronald Reagan, and physicist Albert Einstein.

Dr. Michael is a huge fan of the book 50 Great Short Stories. “It has a story for every situation in life and how to go through it,” he says. “Funny, and a good book.”

If he were to write his autobiography, Dr. Michael says it would be called, “Adaptability,” because “my life has taken so many twists and turns that if you are not willing to adapt, then you will not make it.”

Dr. Mark Campbell graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and summa cum laude from Life Chiropractic College West. He loves his role at The Joint Chiropractic and providing local healthcare services to more than one clinic location, North Knoxville and Sevierville. He joined The Joint’s family of local healthcare providers in 2022.

His first-hand experience led him down the chiropractic path. “A chiropractor restored my back after a motorcycle accident when many other doctor treatments failed,” he says.

Dr. Mark has two adult daughters, and a couple of miniature Australian shepherds named Jack and Holiday. During his down time, Dr. Mark enjoys woodworking, hiking, and observing nature.

“The thing I appreciate most about chiropractic is knowing that I can alleviate a person’s pain without drugs, with my adjustment, and restore them to a better functioning body, thus preventing future dysfunction and disease,” he says. “It’s very rewarding. Who wouldn’t love doing that countless times, with the “side effects” of sleeping better, breathing better, and living more fully?”

One of his most memorable moments as a chiropractor included a patient who brought a case of Tylenol into his office. “They wanted to show me what they were about to return to Costco since their headaches were now gone,” he says.
