Dr. Kirk Bradford became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2020 when he began serving residents in the Arlington area to continue doing the work he loves so much.
“I love being able to help people and see the gratitude in their eyes when they have hope for a fully functional life,” he says “It’s gratifying to make a difference in my community and help those around me to be able to continue to work, provide for their families, raise their children, and enjoy life without pain and suffering.”
A product of Washington, D.C., where he says he benefited from experiencing ethnic, racial, cultural, and economic diversity, Dr. Bradford worked previously in Mansfield. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons, and they enjoy the outdoors and nature while camping and hiking. Not surprisingly, he has been a coach and scout master for them.
He earned a BS in business management and a minor in chemistry at BYU-Idaho before getting a doctorate of chiropractic at Parker University.
“My initial career pursuit was business management or accounting,” Dr. Bradford says. “Early in my college career, a professor assigned a research paper on a profession other than our current degree path. I decided to write a paper on sports medicine because I enjoy sports and thought it would be interesting. I ended up finding a book, Sports Medicine for the Chiropractor. I had limited experience with chiropractic at the time and found the profession intriguing. I decided to change my research paper to chiropractic. After completing the assignment, I shadowed chiropractors and changed career paths to become a chiropractor and I am forever grateful to that professor for opening my eyes to the world of chiropractic and changing my life forever.”
He could not be happier working at the Southwest Arlington clinic location. “The Joint is chiropractic at its purest,” he says. “It focuses on the ability of the chiropractic adjustment to allow the body, when possible, to experience its full potential without the use of drugs or surgery.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Bradford has become a huge fan of outdoor cooking. “We have become obsessed with our Traeger grill,” he says. “It makes the best Texas barbecue, homemade pizza, salmon, and chicken breast, which are among our family favorites.”
If he could bring together any people from history for his perfect dinner party, as a devoted Christian, Dr. Bradford would include Jesus Christ. A descendent of Plymouth Rock colonist William Bradford, he would find it fascinating to hear about that experience as well. Also among his ideal guests would be brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright, and Elon Musk. “I have always loved learning of the Wright brothers’ trials of experience of the first human flight and would love to hear their perspective,” he says, “and I am fascinated by technology and would love to get the insight of a visionary like Musk and see what potential the future has.”
Raising kids has been the most rewarding experience of his life, and some of the best advice he could give anyone, he says, is to “listen first. The more you understand, the less likely you are to judge, and you will be happier for it.”
