Have a Ball, or a Puck, for Your Health

Fear is one of those things that can make failures out of almost anyone. It is one of those things that everyone has, but some manage to overcome it. Some fears are quite valid while others are really without cause. When it comes to activities, a lot of people fear anything new. They fail to make any kind or progress because they simply refuse to try anything out of the ordinary for them. For those wanting to find some new activity that may do something for their health and that of their family, field hockey is a good game that can produce results.
It May Be Great for Cardio
When people play field hockey, they will be moving around quite a bit. It is a game that can be action packed for those wanting something like that. It can also be much slower for those who prefer a more moderate type of exercise. When people alternate between running, walking, and stopping, they will work the heart and circulatory system. This helps it to move blood efficiently while avoiding overtaxing it. Anytime this improves, a person will have a higher level of energy. They will also find it easier to get quality rest.
It May Help with Balance and Coordination
A lot of people have more accidents as they age. Some of this is because they have more trouble with their balance and coordination. Playing a game such as field hockey will require a person to improve both of these. Since the game requires participants to move side-to-side as they attempt to play the ball or puck, balance and coordination will be challenged and sharpened. Since people can play a slower-paced game if they choose, they can build up slowly to the point that they will experience greater success.
It May Help with Weight Loss
If you are like most of us, you are always on the lookout for some way to burn more calories. Dieting is important for effectively losing weight, but exercise can play a big part in having more success once you have gotten on the right diet and schedule. I have found that playing a game such as this can be a great way for me to jump-start my weight loss. I can increase the intensity as I feel like I can handle it.
