Natural Remedies for Allergies

If you suffer from allergies, it doesn’t matter the season you can still suffer from allergy attacks and uncomfortable symptoms.  Do you normally take over-the-counter medications?  There are some natural remedies you can use to treat your allergy symptoms without taking medication.

Here are some natural remedies that can help alleviate the pain and suffering of allergies:

Honey

If you want a way to soothe your allergy symptoms, try some local honey as a solution.  You can use it in your tea or you can eat it raw!

Yogurt

Yogurt contains probiotics, which is a good form of bacteria.  Not only is yogurt good for your stomach and digestion, it also helps with your immune system. Try adding some yogurt into your daily diet to help boost your immune system and help decrease your allergy symptoms.

Air Purifier

Sometimes it is suggested to keep your windows closed and to keep as much outside air out of your house as possible.  But what if you enjoy the fresh air?  Investing in an air purifier will help you get rid of pollen and other allergens in your home, while helping you lower your allergy symptoms.  The best place to have the purifier would be in your bedroom.

Saline Nasal Rinse

Do you suffer from sneezing and running noses?  Chances are there is some pollen or other spores that have made their way up your nose from being outdoors.  The best way to get them out would be to use a saline nasal rise.  Use a neti pot, or you can use a saline solution to rinse out your nasal cavity, clearing out many kinds of allergens.

Steam Inhalation

A way to open up your airways when you are congested is to use oils and steam.  You can easily do this by boiling a pot of water, and then adding in oils such as myrtle, eucalyptus or Rosemary, and standing over the pan for 10 minutes at a time.
