When Accidents Hit Your Chiropractor May Help
The scream of a siren is too frequent in much of our culture. Accidents happen everywhere and injuries often lead to major life changes.
Recently this happened to a dear friend of mine who is the kind of person who always shows up, on time, ready to help everyone.
In this case she needed the help when she fell as she was racing out the door to pick up her grandchild from preschool.
She landed on her wrist and the story became progressively painful from there.
What happens after the accident?
After the immediate chaos and visit to ER she found herself facing a number of changes. Her wrist was fractured and she had strained her whole body in the fall.
Now she could no longer drive to help out with the grandchildren. Instead she was cooped up at home and facing quite a bit of pain.
How Her Chiropractor Helped
In this case, her chiropractor teamed up with her doctor and the lady was able to work her way back to the life she loved.
If this is your first visit to the chiropractor following an accident, or for other issues, you will find the chiropractor’s goal will be to help without surgery or medications.
Your chiropractor may begin with spinal adjustments that may bring pain relief. There will also be an assessment of the nervous system. Then a discussion of what happened and a review of medical history, and daily schedules will follow. The correct diagnosis and pattern of treatment with helpful steps to use at home may be just what is needed to ease the way back, both mentally and physically.
Use of spinal manipulation in the case of tissue injury, such as the fall my friend took may help restore mobility, reduce pain and muscle tightness and allow tissues to heal.
Whatever the change in your life, you and the chiropractor may be able to work through the issues. This may evolve into regular visits, exercises at home, and advice on new, safe ways to do things at home and work. In my friend’s case she learned to relax and slow down a little.
Whatever your current challenge, your chiropractor may be able to help. Schedule an appointment and find out.
