4 Tips for Managing Stress at Work

Stress is easy to come by in the workplace. There's lots of tasks to complete and goals to meet, making it imperative to get all your work done daily. Managing your stress should be a priority if you hope to make it through the work week without it consuming your mind even at home.
Use Your Vacation
Most employees accumulate more and more vacation time as the years go by. Some have several weeks' worth of paid time off after working so many years, and may never even use it all. It's easy to say you have too much work to do and deadlines to meet. You really should be using your vacation time though. Even if you have five weeks of vacation saved, space it out throughout the year and take those breaks when you can. Having time away to rest and recharge can make you better at your job since you're more willing to come back and work hard after having a break for a bit.
Join a Wellness Program
Join a wellness program if your company offers one. You may receive beneficial information on how to maintain your health at work as well as receive incentives for participating. Some may offer a discount on gym memberships while others have a facility to use on site before or after work. Take advantage.
Pack a Healthy Lunch and Snacks
You need healthy food if you're going to maintain a healthy mind. Processed junk can make you feel sluggish and not want to work. Nutritional foods are going to keep your brain working to the best of its abilities. Pack a healthy lunch every day for work and bring healthy snacks as well. Be sure to drink plenty of water through the work day as well.
Take a Walk Break
A lunch break at work doesn't have to consist of you simply eating and sitting down. Of course if you're at a standing job, this may seem ideal. But you should really be getting exercise during the work day so you're not getting stiff and sore. Use your lunch break as a walk break, going for a walk down the block as you eat. It will release endorphins so you feel good and eliminate some of your stress while also keeping you fit.
