Small Changes With Big Healthy Impacts
By Genevieve Cunningham
Sometimes in health and wellness, we worry about all the wrong things. Or perhaps it’s not that we’re worried about the wrong things, but rather that we’re only worried about the big things. We worry when a potentially cancerous spot shows up. We worry when we’ve gained 20 pounds or more. And we should! But if we want to keep our health intact, we should worry more about the small things, too. How? If you’re interested in making small changes with big impact to your health, take a look at these tips to try today.
Drinking More Water
Many don’t realize just how big of an impact this can make on health. Water is life. It hydrates the body, keeps systems functioning efficiently, and improves focus. It can help clear the skin, speed up digestion, and might even lead to weight loss. Try to drink a glass of water before you eat. Drink a glass of water when you wake up. Whatever you can do to get more H2O in your life, do it, and you may notice a big improvement in the way that you feel.
Going to Bed Earlier
Sleep is so crucial to good health. Most of us don’t get anywhere close to enough sleep. We’re fatigued … constantly. If this is you, try going to bed 30 minutes earlier. A little more sleep might make you feel clear of mind, more energized, and even happier. It might take some time to adjust, but once you get used to it, the effects of more sleep will be huge compared to the trouble of making the habit.
Skipping the Snooze Button
Most people really like the snooze button. The first alarm jolts them awake, and then they stay in an in-and-out state of sleep until the second (or third or fourth!) alarm goes off. While this isn’t the worst thing in the world, you’ll probably be surprised at how much more energy you have if you skip the snooze and just get up. Most people find that they have more energy, are more alert, and have a better start to the day if they make this one step a part of their normal routine.
Small habits can make a big difference in the way that you think and feel. Use these tips to improve your health with very little effort. You may find that the small changes are worth the effort. Give them a try today, and feel better than ever as soon as tomorrow.
