Meet The Doctors

Dr. Michael Arriens II, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cedar Park

I have been in practice for 20 years, having received my Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic from the esteemed Parker University in 1998. My practice experience includes sports injuries, personal/occupational injuries, spinal decompression and pre/post-surgical rehabilitation. I am originally from New Ulm Texas, a small rural town near Bellville Texas. My family and I moved to Cedar Park in 1987 and I subsequently attended, and graduated from, Leander High School in 1990. I completed my undergraduate level education here in Austin and then went on to my graduate level of education at Parker University in Dallas Texas. I am a lifelong chiropractic patient after sustaining a traumatic injury that fractured my spinal column and destroyed the last disc in my spin. With regular chiropractic care I have been able to avoid spinal stabilization surgery, to connect my spine back to my pelvis, despite continuing my favorite hobby as an avid golfer.

I have been one of the full time chiropractic Doctors on staff at our Cedar Park location for 5 years, and look forward to continuing to educate others about chiropractic care as well as help them achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. CeCe Melton, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cedar Park

Dr. CeCe Melton joined The Joint Chiropractic network of healthcare professionals in 2016 and the New Braunfels clinic in 2019. A summa cum laud graduate from University of Houston with bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and nutrition, she studied animal science and biomechanics before getting her doctorate from Texas Chiropractic College.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is knowing that I have made someone’s life better,” she says. “Emerging research and a failing healthcare system has led to wider-than-ever awareness of chiropractic care. Today’s chiropractic education is in many ways more demanding than medical school; it encompasses 4,200 hours of class, lab and patient skills, internships, externships, and residencies. We regularly collaborate with medical doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, radiologists, and other specialists to achieve one goal: to improve quality of life, sports performance, and fill a much-needed gap in the healthcare continuum.”

A self-described Air Force and NASA brat, “My home was my family and friends that managed to move with us,” she says. “I am a sixth generation Texan with family roots in Rock Springs, San Angelo, Weimer, Clear Lake City, and the New Braunfels area.”

She worked previously in Canyon Lake, Cedar Park, San Antonio, and San Angelo.

In her spare time, Dr. Melton does in-home massage and chiropractic for people with Parkinson’s disease who can’t easily get around. She also enjoys gardening, exercise, tubing, hiking -- and horses when they’re available.

“I look forward to more outdoor sports as time allows,” she says. She also spends time with her two dogs and two cats.

Dr. Melton had a very personal experience that led her to chiropractic.

“I worked with my husband while living in Houston and was a very deconditioned factory worker after 17 years of sitting at a desk and not moving much,” she explains. “When I watched in frustration and anger as my mother slipped away from us because of Lou Gehrig’s disease, and my own poor health was robbing me of the ability to enjoy life, I met a chiropractor who showed me how to free myself from the tyranny of pain and get my life back through a holistic, functional approach. He helped me off the medical merry-go-round and worked with me as a partner in health. I became aware that there were a lot of people out there who struggled like me.”

“I have fond memories of working as a chiropractic assistant in Houston at a sports medicine-oriented chiropractic clinic while working on a master’s degree. I fell in love with it. People were walking in with pain and walking out with none, sometimes. No pills, no surgery, just handmade care. I had some great mentors and we were really making a difference. We got to know our patients in a way that I never could have if I had decided to go to medical school.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Melton says she always keeps olive oil mayonnaise and dill relish in her fridge so that she can make a tuna fish sandwich.

She says attending University of Houston was the coolest thing she has ever done; she returned 20 years after she began at Angelo State, where she says she attended too many rodeos and activities.

“A fresh start in college with a clear and firm goal in mind was like a second lease on life,” Dr. Melton says. “Like winning the lottery. All the answers to my burning questions laid bare for me to devour and a chance to excel at something I feel strongly about.

“Maturity and a steady eye on a goal put me in favor with several professors who mentored me my senior year. I worked with them in research, publishing, and water rehabilitation, and managed to surprise my family when I graduated Summa Cum Laud and student of the year with a BS in kinesiology and nutrition.”
