Why Chiropractics is Scoring Points Across the Board

We all look for the best results in health care, and chiropractors have some pretty impressive data to back up their performance.

According to the American Chiropractic Association, chiropractors are used by all of the National Football League teams to optimize the functionality, endurance and overall conditioning of professional football players in the treatment of neuromuscular skeletal strain injuries, which includes neck pain, low back pain, strains to hamstrings and quadriceps, and whiplash injuries.

Equally impressive, the ACA tells us there are 77,000 chiropractors in the United States who are required to pass a series of four national boards and it is estimated chiropractors treat over 27 million Americans annually.

Back pain reports show chiropractic outperformed all other back pain treatments, including prescription medication, deep-tissue massage, yoga, Pilates, and over-the-counter medication therapies. Chiropractors are the highest rated healthcare practitioners for low-back pain treatments above physical therapists, specialist physician/MD neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and primary care physicians.

This all translates into health and wellness care and hands on non-invasive treatment that you can obtain at your local chiropractor’s office.

Find Out More with a Visit

In your first visit, the chiropractor will use a spinal adjustment to evaluate spinal health. Then a discussion of current pain and current daily activities will follow along with a complete review of medical history. The chiropractor’s goal will be to seek to achieve pain relief without medication or surgery. The chiropractor may ask how you spend your time at home and on the weekends. There may also be a discussion about the amount of time spent using electronic screens at work and at home.

Then the chiropractor may talk about the importance of having even support in your mattress and not using too many pillows. There may also be advice about protecting the neck when you watch TV and not using the arm of the couch as a headrest. The chiropractor may suggest relaxation techniques and losing weight too. As you learn more good ways to protect your spine, there will be more suggestions to avoid future injuries.

In the cases that I have seen, ongoing monitoring by the chiropractor, backed up with some key advice made the difference. Time spent hiking, camping or biking on the weekends, along with amount of work hours, and any other ongoing stress factors were all evaluated. Out of that evaluation came a targeted program that helped put each person back where they wanted to be in their lives.

Make and appointment and see how it works for you.
