ChiroSpring & the ICD 10 Challenge

In 2015, all disciplines within the medical field are now using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD 10) system to formulate patient documents, update medical records, transmit health information to and from insurance companies, and so much more.

The ICD 10 system is quite different from its predecessor, and many different medical facilities throughout the country and throughout the world are struggling to adjust to the change. There are new coding mechanisms, new conditions with entirely new codes, and new communication processes regarding these codes and how they are sent to insurance companies and other stakeholders.

In the realm of chiropractic care, the ICD 10 system has puzzled many different chiropractic professionals. Practice administrators, chiropractic assistants, receptionists, and chiropractors alike all have exhibited difficulty in adjusting to the new system. While there are numerous resources out there to help chiropractic professionals adjust to the ICD 10 system, there is one new resource that chiropractic professionals can look to in order to help familiarize themselves and their practices with the new coding system.

Chirospring is the leading manufacturer of practice management software for chiropractic clinics. With this position in the landscape of chiropractic care, Chirospring understands that difficulties that come along with incorporating ICD-10 coding into the normal functioning of chiropractic clinics. But Chirospring is not willing to stand idly by and let clinics who use their software struggle.

Chirospring has created a test right on its website called “The ICD 10 Challenge” for anyone who is trying to develop their skills and understanding of the new coding mechanisms. There are serious consequences for chiropractic facilities that do not comply with proper ICD 10 coding and Chirospring wants to do anything in its power to assist professionals in avoiding these consequences.

There is also a series of other resources that Chirospring provides for chiropractic professionals to get acclimated with ICD 10 coding. With this test combined with the resources that Chirospring is offering, the difficulties associated with ICD 10 coding will be a thing of the past. It is hoped that new versions of ICD will be just as easy to interpret. With every new edition comes a litany of new disorders and diseases.
