Why Chiropractic is a Great Way to Promote Health
When you get a good dose of back pain, it is only natural that you think about getting some kind of relief from it. You want the relief to come quickly, too. No one likes back pain. It can be debilitating and hard to ignore.Finding a position to get comfortable in can also be difficult.
Whether you go to a doctor or a chiropractor for treatment first, both will take an x-ray of your back where you feel the pain. They both will want to give you a correct diagnosis. That is about the only similarity in treatment that you will find.
If you go to a doctor, you will find that they will recommend some medications, and some of them will be quite strong – if the pain warrants it. Then they may recommend rest, and ice. After some days of rest, assuming that no damage is detected, and the pain persists, they will make further recommendations, which may include injections, or possibly surgery. In contrast, when going to a chiropractor, he or she will look at the x-ray and may be able to locate a subluxation. This is a place on your spine where the vertebrae have become misaligned. Naturally, this will cause pain because it puts pressure on your nerves and there is also apt to be some inflammation.
After analysis, the chiropractor will be able to determine whether or not an "adjustment" is able to correct the problem. If so, you may be able to get pain relief immediately – and without any drugs or surgery. It is likely that other adjustments will be needed to ensure it stays in place. A chiropractor may also recommend some exercises to strengthen your back muscles, which will help your spine retain a correct alignment. Natural supplements will also likely be recommended for better health, too. This could easily be the solution needed for fast relief without drugs or surgery. Chiropractors are also able to help relieve neck pain, fibromyalgia, and more.
