Dr. Dawn has been a native of Texas for 44 years, prior to that she was any army brat. In 1985 she graduated from Lewisville High School in Lewisville Texas. She then attended Texas A& M University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. Followed by attending and graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic in 1997, then furthered her education more by obtaining a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner license.
She was involved in a motor vehicle accident that instigated a 2.5 month long battle with a full blown migraine. A friend recommended a Chiropractor, and after attending my first session, she was hooked. She wanted to have the chance to provide a change to the quality of someone else’s life, just this Chiropractor had done in her life.
She has had the pleasure of treating families, professional athletes, and even an Olympian in this year’s Olympics. She believes that she has made a difference in someone’s life if she can help someone be relieved of a headache, help them be able to crawl around on the floor with their grandchild when they were not able to before, or perhaps increase their speed on the football field. This is what gives her motivation and drive… the ability to pay it forward. To attempt to provide her patients with a better quality of life, just as the Chiropractor had done for her years ago.
Through Chiropractic techniques such as Diversified, Thompson and Activator, she provides treatment to the areas of the body that are being affected from nerve interference, musculoskeletal dysfunction and subluxations. She is personable with her patients and enjoys educating them about the benefits of Chiropractic, why she is using a particular technique on a patient or even ways to improve their daily activities such as proper posture while working on a computer. Seeing improvement in her patients makes her day, and reinforces why she chose this profession.
My name is Dr. Duyen Nguyen. I was born and raised in Port Arthur, TX. I moved to Houston, TX after high school to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Heath & Wellness at the University of Houston. Toward the end of my undergraduate studies, my strong desire to help others, as well as my interest in health, lead me to consider chiropractic as my profession. I moved to Fort Worth, TX to pursue my passion at Parker University and obtained my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in August 2014. Since graduation, I have been practicing in Fort Worth, TX.
In a recent Consumer Reports study, chiropractic outperformed prescription medication, deep-tissue massage, yoga, pilates, and over-the-counter medication therapies, in treating back pain. 1
