Shaping Up for Spring Break? Try These Tips
By Virginia Laird
With spring break right around the corner you may be one who is looking to get your body ready for swimsuit season. Fitness experts preach that a swimsuit body begins in winter. While you can make a difference to your tone and overall weight in just a few weeks, no major changes will happen in such little time. If you're serious about making changes, it must begin with your diet and exercise routine. A few sure things you can do to help tone your abs and get yourself ready for the beach or poolside include:
- Begin planking every day
- Consider adding squats to your daily routine
- Drink plenty of water
- Get plenty of sleep
Begin Planking Every Day
Planks are one of the best known workouts for the abs. When planking, the entire core gets a workout. This is a great exercise to help strengthen the core, improve posture, and reduce back pain. There's no need to make extreme changes to your routine. Simple planking in your home before bed, when you wake up, or at some point during your day can help begin the path to beautiful abs.
Consider Adding Squats to Your Daily Routine
Squats are one of those exercises with which I have a love-hate relationship. I love that these can tone the legs beautifully. However, they may also cause the legs some serious soreness, which usually means you're doing something right. If you're looking to get a bathing suit body in a short period of time, adding squats as part of your daily routine can help do the trick. Making time to add squats to your daily routine can be easy, as squats can be done while you are cooking, folding laundry, and a variety of other chores around the house. Set the excuses aside and start squats to tone your legs.
Drink Plenty of Water
If you're serious about getting yourself ready for an adventure to the beach or nearby pool, drinking plenty of water is going to be helpful. Drinking enough water can help flush the body of toxins, which can help you eliminate the bloat. Consuming enough water can also keep the skin beautiful and radiant. And let's face it, anyone heading to the pool wants beautiful and radiant skin. Research recommends that you should drink at least half of your body weight in ounces each day. Drink up!
Get Plenty of Sleep
If you're serious about looking good, it's time to start considering how much sleep you get. Have you ever noticed how tired your skin looks when you have gotten less than enough sleep? Research suggests there is a link between beautiful skin and the amount of sleep one gets each night. If you're a parent of young children this can be difficult to achieve, but it is not impossible. Try making sleep a priority for everyone in your home and hopefully you will reap the benefits as well.
There is no time to delay if you are trying to get your body ready for swimsuit and spring break. Get started today and see the benefits; you will love them.
