National Chiropractic Month Says 'Move 4 Life'
By Sandy Schroeder
Most of us know we should move more, but chiropractors around the country are underscoring the importance, making October National Chiropractic Health Month. They advise all of us to “Move 4 Life.”
The American Chiropractic Association says the more we move now, the more likely we will still be moving down the road, having vaulted over all of those chronic, painful conditions that come with sitting too much.
Take a minute and rate how much you move.
Do you shoot for daily workouts but really only do a few - Take all of those good intentions and find the exact spot in your schedule that makes sure your workout will happen.
Does a normal day find you at your desk for more than 8 hours - Delegating some of the work may help you sit less at work and move more afterwards.
Do you sit all day and then collapse on the couch - Sitting too much can sneak up on you. Before you know it, stiffness, soreness and weakened muscles undermine your health and make moving more difficult
Are you a weekend mover who is losing ground - You may have enjoyed many active weekends, and then let that routine slip away. Pick a sport, activity or destination and make every weekend active.
Does your digital slouch speak for itself about how little you move - Most of us spend more time than we should hunched over screens. Start cutting back and substitute some kind of physical activity instead. Biking, walking, fall gardening or sports can reverse the flow.
Whatever your current moving habits are, The Joint Chiropractic may be able to help you pick up speed to move more for a longer, healthier life. The Joint’s doctors of chiropractic will start where you are and help you pull it together.
Your chiropractor starts with a focus on spinal health to improve overall health. A gentle targeted spinal adjustment may relieve aches and pains and provide the energy and motivation to move more. Individual benefits may turn up as better sleep, increased energy and more awareness.
As you evaluate the benefits of your spinal adjustment, a weekly 15-minute spinal adjustment might be just the right way to keep the flow going, and to launch some new fitness efforts that appeal to you and fit your schedule.
Stop by The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you to get started. Affordable personal healthcare plans and packages eliminate the hassle of insurance. Convenient evening and weekend hours make visits easy. No appointments are needed.
