Exercises that Promote a Lean Body
One of the most desired bodies out there is that long lean frame. A model’s body, a dancer’s body...call it what you want. We all know that lean body frame is a desirable one. There is something about a lean body that is attractive and makes you feel good about yourself. No matter what your body type, you can achieve this lean look. The outcome will certainly depend on your natural frame, but everyone can create long and lean muscle. Check out these exercises designed specifically to give you the body you dream about.
It’s hard to look lean if you’re covered in a bit too much fat. One way to eliminate fat is to practice higher intensity cardio. Things like jumping rope and running are great for burning that top layer of fat. Both of these require endurance, short bursts of energy, and great muscle strength. Use either of these on a regular basis to burn fat, build muscle, and work towards that long, lean look.
If you’re not already doing these, then you may not remember how difficult they are. Pull-ups require you to stretch out your abdomen (you should be hanging), and then use your arm and core muscles to pull the entire weight of your body upward. In this stretched out position, your muscles are getting the perfect workout for a lean body. You’ll probably have to work up to this one. Some may find it difficult to achieve even 1 pull-up. Stick with it, however, and you’ll gain some great benefits.
It’s important to work the leg muscles as well, so a great way to do that is with lunges. Lunges allow you to work the muscle in an elongated position, again promoting that lean body. To change it up, change the kind of lunge that you’re doing. Walking lunges, curtsy lunges, and side lunges are all great for working all of the muscles in your leg from top to bottom.
Contrary to popular belief, unless you’re eating for it, you’re not going to get big and bulky just from lifting weights. You will, however, build strong muscles and burn more fat. These combined will help you achieve the lean body of your dreams.
