3 Foods That Can Help Your Body Fight Illness

It is a little early yet, but very soon we will all be in the midst of cold and flu season. All too soon, the cooler winds will blow in, and with them will come stuffy noses, watery eyes, and nonstop sneezing. While there are plenty of ways to combat colds, the best medicine is prevention. Garlic

This is one of the most beneficial foods for your body. Yes, it smells...but the good benefits that come with it far outweigh the foul smell. Yogurt

This one might be a little easier for many people. After all, there are some great flavors of yogurt out there! Yogurt contains a very important healthy bacteria called probiotics. This sort of bacteria is needed in the gut to balance out the bad bacteria. When it gets unbalanced, you may find that you feel ill. Citrus

Citrus is a great food to stock up on. As long as you aren’t sensitive to the acidic juice (some are), you can easily enjoy this treat and fight illness all at the same time. The great part about citrus is the very high amount of Vitamin C. This vitamin specifically boosts the immune system and gives it a little more power to keep illness far away. To enjoy your share of citrus, try orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime, or even kiwi. Any or all of these are easy to add to the menu and delicious to boot!
