Sneaky and Unconventional Ways to Lose Weight

Most of the population of the United States would like to lose weight. We are generally an overweight country. Most of us carry a few extra pounds. Losing weight, however, is a lot more difficult than it sounds. You would think it would be easy. Eat less, exercise more, voila! Unfortunately, it’s not always so simple. If you are struggling to lose weight, check out these sneaky and slightly unconventional ways to lose a few pounds.

Drink More Water

Ok, this is not that sneaky and it’s definitely not unconventional, but it does work! If you can up your water intake, you’ll feel more full, flush your body more often, and ultimately lose more weight. If you can, get in at least 8 glasses a day. Always drink a glass before you eat, and then another after your meal. The “sneaky” part is that you’ll almost trick yourself into losing weight with this one. You’ll lose weight without even realizing it, and enjoy the benefits of more water to boot.

Eat Something Spicy

So, this won’t have you dropping a hundred pounds, but it can up your metabolism just a little. Spicy foods, like chili peppers and cayenne, are known to boost your metabolism. If you can find a way to eat these everyday (not every meal), then you may find a slight increase in the rate of your metabolism. Even if you don’t lose a hundred pounds, you might find a pound or two extra a month dropping off with this simple tip.

Tell People

If you keep your weight loss plan to yourself, you are much more likely to cheat along the way. Making yourself publicly accountable is a great way to keep yourself on track. Tell those that you love about your goal. That way, when you feel like giving up, you’ll have the support of those around you to keep you going toward your ultimate goal instead of giving into temptation.

Let Yourself Cheat

I know this sounds slightly contradictory to the above tip, but giving yourself a little leeway to have a cheat now and then will ultimately keep you from binging. You want that piece of cake? Have it, but limit it to one. Giving yourself some wiggle room makes long term success much more likely.

Losing weight can be hard, but it doesn’t have to make your life miserable. Use these tips to drop some pounds in a discreet and unconventional way. Get back your life by getting back your health in no time.
