Are You Thirsty for a Healthy Drink?

Are there times when you are in need of a drink but don't want to risk veering from your routine of healthy living?  Any time we invest ourselves in some kind of effort to improve, we want to stay on track once we get going.  It is often difficult enough to get started.  The last thing we want to do is get sidetracked.  For some of us, that means we drink water, water, and more water even though we may crave something with a little more flavor.  There are actually all kinds of healthy drinks around, but we are often unaware of what is available.  We simply have to seek them out.

How About Beet Juice?

If someone had mentioned beet juice when I was younger, I would have thought they were out of their minds.  I knew beets were supposed to be good for you, but I didn't think they may actually be good tasting!  The fact is that beets have quite a few health benefits for us, and there is a growing market for beet products.  I see drinks, foods, and even pills.  Beets are known to have iron and other minerals that may help boost the immune system.  They may also help relieve inflammation, support digestive health, and boost energy. There are a few more as well.

More Red May Be Good

For many years, lots of people have touted the benefits of drinking cranberry juice.  It has long been used to help prevent urinary tract issues.  It may do more than that however.  It has a pretty low sugar content for fruit, and it may help to lower blood sugar.  It is believed to help lower blood pressure.  The best part of all is that it tastes good.  For those who feel it may be a little tart, it may be combined with some other juices to make it seem smoother.

Water with Flavors Can Be Good

When I want to make my drink selection a little healthier, drink water and add flavors.  It can be really fun.  Choosing your own flavor combinations can create interesting blends.  Since many restaurants carry a large variety of flavors, it is easy to order them the way you want.  I am a big fan of adding lime and strawberry, but lots of them are great.  They all have very few calories and are refreshing.
