3 Foods to Add to the Menu That Taste Healthy and Fresh

A healthy diet can be confusing. You would think that it would be easy, but with so many options, it can be hard to tell the actually healthy food from the deceptive unhealthy food in disguise. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, rely on your tastebuds. There are some foods that you know are healthy just because of their taste. Take a look at these 3 foods that taste fresh and delicious, and make a great addition to your regular menu.


Apples are one of the healthiest fruits, and they taste like it! Apples contain high amounts of water and fiber, which help to keep your body hydrated and your digestive tract moving. They also contain high amounts of Vitamin C which serves as an aid for your body’s immune system. And for freshness, apples also serve as a natural teeth cleanser. They won’t take the place of brushing, but the gritty texture removes plaque.  If apples aren’t already on your menu, they should definitely be added. These will leave your mouth fresh, your body clean, and are an overall excellent addition to your diet.


Many people comment on the fresh flavor that cucumber brings. The high water content and minimal spice makes the green treat taste like you literally just plucked it from a garden. Cucumber is an excellent choice to add to your diet because of its percentage of water and its extremely low calorie count. A raw cucumber is thought to be about 95% water, and yet it still provides some essential nutrients, most notably Vitamin K. If you want to add cucumber to your diet, dice them up and put them in a salad, or just slice them up and eat them as a snack.


When you need a sweet treat to add to the menu, try grabbing a few kiwi. Kiwi is full of water, fiber, and Vitamin C, so it brings some excellent nutrients to the table. It also, when bitten into, kind of explodes in your mouth, letting juice and a very soft middle fall apart on your tongue. The taste is semi sweet, partly bitter, but a nice, clean fresh taste. The best way to add kiwi is to slice it up and eat it at your leisure. Add it to breakfast, use it as a snack, or make it dessert. You can’t go wrong by adding this green goodie to the mix.

Eating food that tastes fresh just lets you know that you are on the right health track. Flavor says a lot. If it tastes fatty and heavy, it probably is. Likewise, if it tastes light and fresh, it probably is! Use these 3 foods as a guide to get more fresh food and lots of healthy nutrients into your diet.
