Drinking tea has been a staple for many, many years. Starting years and years ago, drinking tea has been known for its health benefits for both the body and mind. As time passes, the tea options are growing and growing. Whatever flavor you are looking for, you can probably find it in the form of a delicious and healthy tea. If you are a tea drinker, check out these 4 teas that should be added to your regular routine for their awesome healthy benefits.

Green Tea

It’s hard to talk about healthy tea without bringing up the benefits of green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants. These antioxidants can do multiple things, from protecting cells from damage to relaxing the body to aiding in the prevention of heart disease. Green tea can be consumed in either a caffeinated or decaffeinated version, so your options can really suit your individual needs. Peppermint tea is one of my favorites. It tastes like what you would think...peppermint. The minty, but subtle flavor is great for sore throats and nasal congestion. It is also thought to ease stomach pain, clear the skin, and for many it provides some much needed stress relief. For those that like to get in the holiday spirit, peppermint tea makes a wonderful option for the holidays, as the smell and slight peppermint taste provide a little holiday ambiance.

Chamomile Tea

This tea is one to definitely add to the mix. Chamomile brings numerous benefits. For starters, many use it to soothe and calm the body. Trouble falling asleep? Try a cup of chamomile. Along with aiding in sleep troubles, it can also promote the body to heal itself. It is a natural antibacterial, a tool in easing stomach pain, and a natural anti-inflammatory. Chamomile has a distinct flavor. Some love it, but others have a harder time. Sweeten it with a sugar alternative, honey, lemon, or whatever your choice.

Oolong Tea

This is a little lesser known tea, but its benefits are much coveted. This tea has a richer flavor than other teas, so be prepared for its strong taste. Once you get used to it, however, then you may enjoy the benefit of weight loss. It is thought that oolong tea promotes more calorie burning than regular tea. Drink a cup in the morning and burn more calories throughout the day. You probably won’t lose a hundred pounds, but it can certainly help you get on the right track and maintain a healthy weight in the long run.
