4 of The Most Unhealthy Foods

If you’re a health conscious person then you are probably all too aware of all the foods that are rich in nutrients and good for you.  You probably know that fresh produce is great along with healthy lean protein.  You know that a balanced and moderate diet is your best bet for weight loss and longevity.  You know that you must avoid processed foods and that overeating can damage your weight loss efforts.  You know all this but do you know what’s on the opposite end of the spectrum?

There are foods out there that are absolutely horrible for you.  Some of these unhealthy culprits have no nutritional value whatsoever.  They may seem appealing because of their taste or color but the fact of the matter is that they are just plain bad for our health.  Check out these foods that may be the worst possible choices for your diet.

Donuts

Not only are donuts chock full of sugar, but they also contain simple carbohydrates from refined flours.  Eating donuts - this combination of sugar and carbs - can dramatically increase your blood glucose levels; this may cause fatigue and increase your diabetes risk.  Donuts are typically fried in hydrogenated oils which are also horrible for your health.

Hamburgers

Burgers, especially from fast food chains, are chock full of saturated fats which can contribute to clogged arteries and heart disease.  Not only is the processed meat full of fat and additives but the white bun they are typically served on can elevate your glucose levels causing all sorts of problems for the health of your body and heart.

Buffalo Wings

These dark meat chicken favorites are loaded in saturated fat and calories.  They are typically deep fried in oil, and then once you add on all the sauces or flavorings you are damaging your health and your waistline.  Creamy dressings are high in saturated fats, adding a double dose of fat to your meal.  Enjoy skinless chicken breast instead for a healthy unprocessed meal.

Snack Crackers

Snack crackers are an easy on-the-go option that we all like to grab in between meals, but these crunchy favorites may not be as light as they appear.  Most snack crackers are prepared with shortening, which contains an abundance of trans fats.  Not only that, but most crackers are made from white flour which can elevate your body’s glucose levels.
