Get In Control of Your Panic Attacks

You may be the type of person who has found yourself in the unfortunate position of having a panic attack. You have likely experienced the physical symptoms of tightening in your chest, the increased heart rate, the sweating, crying, shortness of breath, or sweaty palms. The feeling of dread, fear, and anxiety cannot be shaken for what feels like forever. Panic attacks can be a very difficult thing to pull yourself out of, that is, if you do not have the right tools.

There are multiple ways to rid off panic attacks, and definitely a few different ways to prevent them as well. Let’s dive into that first. Something is clearly bringing on your panic attacks. Are you a frequent coffee drinker? Do you frequently do drugs or drink alcohol? Do you have a history of anxiety or depression? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, these could very well be root problems as to why you are suffering from frequent panic attacks. If it’s a matter of substance causing your issues, attempt to limit your intake of said substances. If it is a matter of mental health, don’t hesitate to seek therapy. Therapists can give you the tools to control the subconscious train of thought running through your head, likely causing that oncoming feeling of fear and dread.

If you feel a panic attack coming on, it will be helpful to have some of these tips on hand. First, go on a walk, get out in the fresh air and soak up some vitamin D. If possible, go on a walk somewhere secluded in nature. Another trick is to attempt to exercise, the routine practice can help calm your restless body and mind. Bathe or step into a sauna, the steam and the heat will help to soothe breathing and release muscle tension. Eat something, because your panic attack could be brought on by low blood sugar. There are also herbal remedies you can seek to aid panic attacks as well, however it should be advised that you consult your physician before utilizing some of these herbs. Herbs known to help panic attacks include kava, catnip, passion flower, lemon balm, valerian, motherwort, lavender, and chamomile.

Attempt to lead a healthy, well balanced lifestyle, as it will help to ease panic attacks. Do not be afraid to seek professional help if your panic attacks persist. If you find yourself at home when a panic attack hits, do not fear, you have a lot of options to soothe your attacks.
