4 Unique Ways to Make Your Morning Productive

By Stepy Kamei

It's certainly easy to make plans to be productive in the morning. However, actually sticking to and following through with these plans can be difficult for many of us. When it comes down to it, you may have a hard time waking up, or you may find yourself feeling stressed and rushing to get out the door, leaving your plans for productivity unrealized. Still, you may have been convinced to stick with such plans thanks to studies by healthcare experts, which describe the importance of starting your day off on the right foot. If you've tried your best to wake up productive but are still having a difficult time, consider trying these four unique techniques to help truly kick-start your mornings.

Prep the Night Before

First of all, you may be able to help out your future self by getting things done the night before! There are many ways you can set yourself up for productivity and success before you even go to sleep for the night. For starters, you can start showering before bed instead of in the morning for an easy way to save time. You can also plan out and set aside the outfit you plan to wear the next day (make sure to include your handbag and everything you need to bring to work!). Taking it one step further, consider prepping your meals the night before; maybe this means cooking ahead of time, or simply refrigerating leftovers after dinner for the next day.

Talk About Your Upcoming Day

If you want an easy way to bust through grogginess and think ahead, talk it out! While you're going about your morning routine, speak your plans, appointments, goals, etc. for the day out loud. This will get your brain going, and can help you remember everything you need to get done.

Exercise While Doing Chores

You can count on performing simple yet helpful exercises such as squats and lunges while doing basic tasks such as brushing your teeth or combing your hair. At the very least, some basic stretches can help get the blood flowing after waking up.

Create a Daily Mantra

Many people find it can be very helpful to come up with a dependable and repeatable mantra to say as they're heading out the door for the day. This can be helpful if you're often forgetting things. Come up with a short and easy to remember mantra with the items you commonly forget, such as your keys, phone, or lunch.
