Dr. Nathan Hamilton joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2016 when he became the local chiropractor at the Spring Town Center location. A 2012 graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, he majored in English and minored in physics. He got his doctor of chiropractic at the Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena.
Dr. Hamilton says he derives great satisfaction from “being able to alleviate people’s pain and allowing them the opportunity to enjoy their life pain-free again,” but with the added advantage of “being able to meet and treat many interesting and fun people.”
Dr. Hamilton loves being a chiropractor.
“I wanted to have a job that helped people and realized chiropractic was the best course of action,” he says, “especially after chiropractic care helped me get out of pain in high school while I was playing football.”
Working at the Spring Town Center clinic, it’s easy for Dr. Hamilton to smile throughout the day. “I love the people I work with, work for, and the patients that I see,” he says. “They are all fun to be around and make me look forward to going to work each day.”
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Hamilton is seeing animals. His home menagerie includes a pair of rescue dogs and two lizards. The dogs are Graham Cracker, a lhasa apso, and Hershey Kiss, a Dutch shepherd. The lizards have equally impressive names: a bearded dragon named Illiad and an ornate uromastyx named Icarus.
In his spare time, Dr. Hamilton trains and competes in kung fu, enjoys football, and unwinds gaming on his PS4 (usually on RPG and puzzle games).
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Hamilton has a sweet tooth -- maybe the dogs’ names were a giveaway -- and won’t be caught without ice cream in his freezer. “I can’t resist a good dessert,” he says.
He can’t resist inviting a wide variety of guests to his perfect dinner party, either. He would love to have a musician, filmmaker, astrophysicist and comic book mogul at the same table.
“Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters is passionate about what he does and music means a lot to me,” Dr. Hamilton says. “Joss Whedon’s directed some of my favorite shows. I’d have Neil Degrasse Tyson over because of his willingness to help others learn, and because of his sense of humor. Finally, Stan Lee, “because I am a huge nerd, and because of the amazing universe he has created with Marvel.”
But holy icebreaker, will Dr. Hamilton admit to Stan Lee that his all-time favorite character is Batman from the DC universe?
Getting back to universes that are real, and on this planet, is Scotland, which provided Dr. Hamilton the coolest opportunity of his life. He visited there for a class while at Austin College. “I got to tour the area for a month,” he says. “It was cool touring such a beautiful region and to see my heritage.”
