Chiropractic May Be the Answer to Helping You Live Your Fast-Paced Life
Many lucky souls move from their teen years right on through their thirties enjoying a whole lot of fast paced fun. We see them riding and roping in rodeos, out on the bike trails, rolling up and down hills in off-road vehicles, or climbing, hiking, and running.
Many of them come through with great stories and no major injuries. But when pain, overuse or fate intervenes, answers are needed quickly. That’s where doctors and chiropractors can team up to keep the game going.
Chiropractic Performance Score Card
Recently research was reported in Spine by C.M,. Goertz, that looked at acute low back pain for men and women, ages 18 to 35, and reported that chiropractic manipulative therapy, in conjunction with standard medical care, offered a significant advantage for decreasing pain and improving physical functioning, when compared with using only standard care.
Whatever the sport or hobby, from off road biking, to rodeos to climbing, the physical challenges to the body can add up quickly and come to a screeching halt when injuries occur. Seeing the doctor promptly and then seeing a chiropractor may make the difference, going from a huge slowdown to just a timeout.
Seeing the Chiropractor
Whatever the current situation, the chiropractor has the background to help. The initial visit will include spinal manipulation to establish spinal health, a complete medical history and a review of daily schedules. Then a discussion of what happened and where the pain is follows. If you are experiencing pain from injury or over active outings, and you are in the age range from 18 to 35 you have time and body resilience on your side. The chiropractor will take it from there with advice on how to be active, but safer in the future, and how to deal with the current pain.
In cases I have seen the chiropractor worked through the problem with a succession of visits and a whole program of self help. Each person learned ways to slow down and relax a little, and do strength exercises to level everything out. This took time, but slowly but surely they were able to regain a grip on their work and their play time. The chiropractor’s goal is to treat the patient, to try to help relieve pain and restore normal activities without surgery or medications.
If you or someone in your family is facing lower back pain, or injury see your doctor and your chiropractor to start regrouping and reclaiming your life.
