How to Make Your Mornings Calm and Soothing

The mornings can make or break the rest of your day. Have you ever woken up late, skipped breakfast, and rushed through your routine? Of course you have. And every time this happens, it starts your day off on the wrong foot. But you've probably also had one of those mornings that's slow and deliberate and calming. And when this happens, the rest of your day often follows suit. The morning matters! Unfortunately, it's also one of the hardest parts of the day. But it can be easier! If you'd like to start each day in a calm and soothing manner, take a look at these tips to help you out. 

Find the Perfect Wake-Up Time

If you don't wake up at the right time, it can make your morning either really long or extremely chaotic. To have a calm and peaceful morning, you'll need to find the perfect wake up time for you. You'll want enough time to wake up slowly, enjoy something warm to drink, and maybe read or relax just a bit before the push to get ready for work. Try a few different times, see what feels the best, and make your new wake up time a permanent habit. 

Don't Wake Up to Chaos

The easier your mornings are, the more relaxed you're going to be. One of the worst things you can do is wake up late. The second worst thing you can do is wake up to chaos -- even if you're waking up on time. Is your house a mess? Clothes still in the washing machine? Work scattered on the table? Clean your house and pick out your clothes before bed the previous evening. Make sure you have the ingredients for breakfast and everything you need for coffee. Planning just a little bit ahead can ease the morning transition and lead to a much more calm morning. 

Stay Away From Media

How many of us wake up and immediately reach for our phones? The percentage of people who do this is going to be extremely high -- especially in America. This quickly becomes a habit, and before you know it, you've checked every social media outlet you have before you even get out of bed. This is a terrible idea! If you want a calm and soothing morning, stay away from any source media. Do literally anything else! Listen to music, try a podcast, read a book, or soak in some silence. Stay far away from media sources, and your mornings are almost guaranteed to have a better start. 

A calm morning can make for a much better day. You'll be more relaxed, more peaceful, and more at ease. You may have more patience and better focus. A calm morning will likely make a much bigger difference than you realize! Use these tips to take your mornings from chaos to calm, and you may be able to improve your health and life in no time at all.
