Eliminate Morning Aches With Chiropractic Care

By Paul Rothbart

There's no question that mornings can be tough. Transitioning from a sound sleep in a cozy bed to getting up and starting the day, often in a room that feels cold compared to under the blankets, isn't easy. It's even harder when you have those aches and pains that are common to many. Getting up in the morning would surely be easier without the pain. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help reduce the pain.

Get a Sufficient Amount of Sleep

It may seem obvious, but too little sleep will certainly contribute to morning pain. Most people need 8-9 hours a night. In the course of a busy day, it can be tempting to cut back on sleep in order to create more waking hours to get more accomplished. That is a mistake. Sleep is far too important to your body. Don't cheat yourself. Getting enough sleep each night will go a long way toward lessening the pain you feel upon awakening.

Drink Plenty of Water During the Day

Your body emits fluids all day long, most commonly through sweat. You need to put that water back. Many people are in a constant state of dehydration. This can cause many problems, both physical and mental, as well as cause pain. You can't drink water while you are sleeping, but you do sweat and salivate. It makes sense that you need to hydrate well during your waking hours to avoid waking up in pain caused partly by dehydration. Don't wait until you feel thirsty. Drink a glass of water at regular intervals all day long.

Stretching

Muscles ache when they are tight. They don't move as smoothly and that is sure to cause pain. Daily stretching can help keep muscles loose and limber. Without the tightness, pain can be significantly reduced. Another benefit is that you can relax more easily and sleep better. That will also lessen morning pain.

See a Chiropractor

When it comes to aches and pains, a chiropractor may be your best friend. Regular adjustments can keep the spine and neck healthy and free from subluxations and other issues that can cause pain. A chiropractor can also keep joints properly adjusted and lessen pain in those parts of the body. Many people find that regular chiropractic visits help them sleep better which will also reduce pain.

Starting the day in pain is probably the hardest way to go. But these tips can help reduce or even eliminate morning aches and pains. Consider a visit to The Joint Chiropractic. No appointment is needed. You may find that chiropractic care makes a big difference in how you feel when climbing out of bed.
