Dr. Sonya Popal is a graduate of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating undergraduate college, Dr. Sonya started working in Reproductive Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She became very fascinated and intrigued when she heard how her Chiropractic friend was having huge success in treating infertile patients. She couldn’t understand how having a Chiropractic lifestyle was able to help patients get pregnant and maintain a healthy pregnancy. After doing a thorough research the profession became her love and it has been an incredible journey.
She has worked in Ireland, The Netherlands and the U.K. before returning to the States. She had an opportunity to travel to Brazil and volunteer in the Bahia province. There, she adjusted many people who have little or no access to health care. It was a life changing experience that made her realize how truly blessed she was to have her health.
Dr. Sonya utilizes manual treatment methods such as Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson and Activator methods. Dr. Sonya has continued her chiropractic education with post-doctoral seminars in Atlas Orthogonal and Applied Kinesiology. Her aim is to improve one’s quality of life by optimizing the bodies’ ability to fully express health.
She makes it her mission to provide quality chiropractic care for all her patients, and strive to be a knowledgeable resource of health and wellness for the community. While fostering an environment that encourages every practice member to be proactive and take ownership of their own health and wellness.
Her goal is to help people live life to the fullest by providing the highest standard of alternative healthcare by getting the patient out of pain as quickly as possible and change behaviours to minimize future problems. The chiropractic patients experience better outcomes in pain reduction, improved overall health, and higher patient satisfaction. She treats the whole patient, not just the symptom. She believes in holistic health care from above-down, inside-out. She is fluent in Dutch. She enjoys yoga, swimming, jogging and hiking.
My name is Dr. Sean Price. I was born in Austin TX and spent the first 12 years of my life moving around Texas as a military dependent. When I was 12 years old my family was stationed to Howard AFB in Panama and I spent my early teenage years exploring the jungles of Central America. At the age of 15, were we stationed back stateside which landed me in Fort Walton Beach Florida which is were I spent the last 34 years. In 2000 I began Chiropractic School and Life University in Marietta GA. and graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in December of 2003. Upon graduation I moved my family to Louisville KY where I practiced and trained for 6 months in one of the largest Chiropractic Offices in the country to develop my adjusting skills. I then moved back to Fort Walton Beach FL and opened my private practice in October of 2004. In December of 2019 I retired from private practice and in June of 2019 my wife Kelly and I moved our 4 kids (2 Daughters and 2 sons) to Great Falls VA which is where we now reside. After being out of the Chiropractic profession for almost a year I realized how much I missed working with patients so decided to join the Joint Chiropractic part time in October of 2019. I truly enjoy working with patients and watching the changes in quality of life that Chiropractic can bring to the lives of our patients.
Dr. Brad Forbes D.C. was born in Kentucky and raised in VA Beach region. He attended Ithaca College for a year, then later transferred to East Carolina University, graduate class of 1997 with a degree of B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. Dr. Forbes obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University of Atlanta and received his first chiropractic job in Atlanta, GA. He later extended his chiropractic knowledge and care in the VA Beach area for 12+ years. Dr. Forbes recently joined The Joint’s community as of August 2019 in the NOVA area.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Forbes says that the best thing about serving others in this field is “healing patient’s naturally and making a difference in their lives”. Dr. Forbes exemplifies this by his motto “to give, to love, to serve” the community. An experience he will never forget was going on a chiropractic mission trip to India treating thousands of patients for almost two months. His experience there allowed him to meet inspirational people, treat patient’s and to become one in their culture including staying in an ashram. Dr. Forbes also has treated many professional athletes that have given him vast experience in treating high level athletes.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Forbes loves to engage in the activities of running, surfing, golfing, attending live sporting events and fishing in his free time; along with caring and loving for his two English Bulldogs. His idea of a perfect dinner would include the guests of Derick Jeter, Mean Joe Green, Steve Prefontaine, and Muhammad Ali. These are the people who inspired Dr. Forbes because they were all dedicated to their purpose at the highest level of performance, making a difference by fighting to overcome adversity, and making a difference in society. The entrée served at this dinner would be fresh frog legs. This is the one dish that Dr. Forbes must always have in his refrigerator. To Dr. Forbes, this dish is a “feel good food” that reminds him of dinnertime with his grandfather. A genuine family memory dish.
