The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I was not comfortable with the lack of privacy in the multi-station room. I gather this is becoming standard practice. I also felt that the doctor was rushing a bit; other clients were waiting in the same room, watching and listening to my history and treatment process. The chiropractor part was pretty good, and I actually enjoyed going there. However, when my family and I had to suddenly move out of town, I called to cancel and was told I would need to come in. I explained my situation to the gal on the phone, and she said that after I made one more payment to fulfill my three month obligation, that my membership would be canceled without me having to come in. Fast-forward a month, and I'm being charged again. I called to inquire, and I am told that I was probably given incorrect information because so many front desk trainees are run through that location. So even after explaining my situation, I was told there was nothing they could do and I would continue to be charged until I could drive back in person and fill out a cancellation form, even with them knowing I was no longer able to come in and use their services. I was then told that a director of some sorts would be reaching out to me, she never did. Call back in a second time, was told Again that she would be reaching out to me, but never heard from her. They know exactly what they are doing by making you have to come in person. It's a toxic business practice, and what was more infuriating is when this gal basically admitted that I was probably given wrong information by a trainee, but there was nothing she could do. It appears other users on here have had the same issue, and rather than working with these people who no longer want to pay for services that they are not using, it's one of those "You signed the contract and we are going to continue taking your money". I cannot speak poorly enough of this company. They admit they were wrong, but still refused to work with you. And this Lisa that was supposed to be calling me knows it's wrong, which is why she never called either time.

I went in with some pretty bad aches and pains and was treated right away. The doctor was phenomenal and cracked my body back into shape with ease. The doctor and front desk staff were very accommodating and considerate of all who were present helping them with their chiropractic needs with great care and yet was expeditious in working on our adjustments. The doctor’s expertise was evident in the efficiency and effectiveness of her adjustment technique. I am a member now and will be going to this very professional, precise, & proficient doctor regularly. The location of the office is optimal for me too. It’s truly was a win-win for me that I chose this particular chiropractic practice because of how great my body felt immediately after being adjusted. Incredible staff, I just walked in and they took care of me. Very easy sign in process and within 30 min I was being adjusted. I just visited The Joint. After taking my driver's license which showed my birthday, the receptionist asked me 'do you have Medicare?' I said 'yes.' Then the doctor came out and asked me if I had new pain. I said a little. He told me I'd have to be referred out. I then said I mostly had lower back pain. He then said I'd have to be referred out. SO--- IF YOU ARE OLDER---DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! JUST GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR WHO WILL PROVIDE THOROUGH CARE! I've never felt age discrimination until today. And if you are younger---do you really want to be treated by an office that can't take an xray to see what is going on??? Also, just so you know, The Joint does NOT take any insurance. Why did they ask me about Medicare?!?

I am giving this place one star because they not only made the injury I thought they could help way worse, but refused to cancel my membership(and continue to charge) when I can no longer continue adjustments as a result, per a surgeon's instructions. I understand the minimum commitment, and that they cannot be held liable for bodily harm you incur at their practice, but surely an exception can be made to the cancellation policy for medical reasons if you're physically unable to continue treatment?

Many years ago I was a doubter of chiropractic and for 25 years I have been a believer. Amazing stuff - that has helped me correct the damage done to my body by years of weight training and judo. My first visit. I called before and even this was efficient and professional answering right away. They've got something good going on ALL around. I've worked with dozens doctors in Richmond and Dr. Sean , in Charlottesville, is top notch and approachable. I was in excruciating neck pain and I was a walk in. I hate filling out forms I have a lot of trouble writing..this was so much easier over my phone.. no hassles. Not a single one. And to answer you more completely now that I'm home "YES, I actually DO feel better..I just couldn't even handle it before and now after I'm ok. It's tolerable. I can relax. This is priceless to me. Definitely recommend. I went in the office today not being able to turn my head at all and let me tell you - the doctor was a miracle worker! It's been about 4 hours since I saw him and although I'm still in pain, I can move my head and the pain has drastically decreased. The front desk lady was fantastic as well and extremely helpful. The girl that works thrusdays evening, was extremely rude and overall very condescending when it came to checking us in and making us feel welcome. (I felt unwanted so i wont be back) We work told that we were not "allowed: to cancel out membership until we've been charged for a second month. (Which we were not told that it was a two month commitment) if what she said was true then look out this is a scam. I'm happy I'm ending my service with them!.

Visiting from VB. Stopped in spur of the moment while my kid was UVA for a program. After 3 hours of driving and a stressed out week of work, I needed it. I was greeted at the front desk by a very nice young lady with awesome pink hair. Saw Dr. Shawn (sp). He was very nice and asked me what the issue was. Asked me how i was normally adjusted. He got the spot in my upper right back between the blades. He straightened me out, heard the crack, felt the release, and I could breathe more deeply again. Stopped in spur of the moment while my wife was shopping when I saw their $29 first time patient special. I've never been a real big fan of Chiropratic care but my upper back has been bothering me for a couple weeks and I couldn't get it to pop myself. Anyway the young lady at the front desk was very nice. Good sense of humor and easy to talk to. Saw the doctor, can't remember his name sadly, and explained what was happening. He got the spot in my upper back straightened out right off and I could breath again without any pain. Then had me lay face down on the table and actually got my neck to pop! That felt great after I relaxed a bit. I had also let him know that I was having some severe pain in my kidney area on the left side. I was surprised when he really worked on my lower back/hip area and got it to "crack" too. Instant pain relief I hadn't gotten from other doctor visits with CT scans and ultra sounds and drugs. Recommended I take hot shower and heating pad after I got home. He did say what to do after and since my back had been out that long, a few weeks, it might take another visit and it feels like he might be right. Anyway I couldn't be happier with the results and if you need chiropractic care check them out.

Dr. Adams is seriously the most attentive knowledgeable chiropractor I have visited. Being pregnant, chiropractic care has been so important to keep me feeling like myself. When I originally came in I was in immense pain and he's been able to help me get readjusted to where I no longer have the same pregnancy pains I had with my previous pregnancy. They also recently had Dr. Black as a fill-in and he is also the sweetest person. Very knowledgeable men. I truly am blown away by the care I got for sure a great price too. I got to my appointment 15 minutes early so arriving at 10:45. Appointment was supposed to be at 11. I was not seen until 12. I went up to the desk and was told that walk ins were always going to be seen first. Otherwise, service was great, but there’s no point in making an appointment. The service was incredible and the staff was excellent!

My only complaint is no one to answer a phone or return a call. I tey to get Dr Uhle to do my adjustments as he's top notch and does a great job. They need someone to answer a phone.

I have been going to this place for about a year now and I love it! Dr. Uhle is amazing! He listens to your problems and trys to help ease your pain. He really cares for you as a person. He is what it means to be a Doctor... taking care of the whole person. He also is amazing with kids. Thank you for everything! I've been to a number of chiropractors over the years and this was by far the worst. The doctor seemed to struggle with my adjustments. Some of them he had to do multiple times, resetting me on the table. Not only did he fail to relieve the main pain point that had prompted my visit, but I left feeling substantially worse than when I entered. What was perhaps more egregious was the real lack of knowledge in the diagnosis. After a pretty basic exam the doctor told me that the chronic pain I'd been dealing with for years was just a "muscle spasm." After the ineffective adjustments he "taught" me two stretches that I learned back in elementary school gym class. Then, of course, they tried to upsell me on a more expensive care package. I would suggest anyone considering this chiropractor save their money and use it on something that might actually improve their condition, like a foam roller.

First time ever visiting a chiropractor. I had to reschedule my appointment and Garrett was very courteous and helpful when accommodating me. This was my first time and things went well. The doctor talked kinda fast and I didn’t feel like much was being done but when I stood up after being adjusted I felt great and I ended up signing up for one of the service plans. It’s crazy what one adjustment can do. I’m excited to return. The receptionist was really kind and knowledgeable as well. Spent 20 min filled out the long form and they didn’t even look at it(except for copied your phone number and kept messaging you afterwards). Then they just spent 5 min crack my back and started selling me the month plan, asking me to come back twice a week. Never told me what was wrong with my back even though I asked them the cause( turned out to be muscle strain). It’s just like I payed 30 bucks to get advertised. Good strategy. Suggest to just go to a doctor if you experience unknown pain.

Everyone was very polite and helpful. Thorough in the explanation of paperwork and payment. Dr Justin Whitlock took time to go over my history and what was currently my issue. Being a travel nurse I deal with long car rides and long hours on my feet. The effects of this affecting my shoulders, upper back, hips and ankles. Each area was addressed in my first adjustment. Going back for more treatment but left with a definite change in shoulders and upper back. Feels easy to stand tall and switch to better posture. The best part was being able to walk in and get seen (on a Sunday I might add.) I start a new assignment tomorrow and I feel this will truly help me focus more on work and less on how uncomfortable I feel. Definitely recommend you give them a try. It’s affordable, they have many locations and your body will thank you.
