3 Ways to Improve Your Fitness
By Donna Stark
How many times have you driven past your local gym and told yourself that you need to start focusing on your health and fitness levels more? If you are like many people, it may be a weekly occurrence. So what happens during those six days in-between? We all like the idea of having an athlete's body and being so healthy that the only visits to the doctor we need to make are for our yearly physical, but as we all know, following through with daily exercise can be tough!
3 Ways to Improve Your Health and Fitness
To truly find the success you are looking for, you need a heaping dose of motivation to keep yourself committed, and sometimes, that is the biggest hurdle you may have to face. So what can you do? Well, sometimes it is easier if you turn to other things. Let's take a look.
- Fitness tracker - A fitness tracker is a tool that you generally wear on your wrist. It tracks your movement, heart rate, sleep quality, and so many other factors that it kind of feels like you are carrying around your very own personal fitness guru. On top of that, it can sense when you haven't moved for a while and lets you know that it is time to get up! Now, of course, you are still being accountable only to yourself, but if you don't have any trouble doing so, this is a great motivating tool.
- Accountability partner - It is easy to make excuses and not work out when we are on our own, so it helps to have an accountability partner. This person could be a family member, friend, or coworker, but whoever it is, you will need to let them know what your goals are and how you plan to achieve them. They can either join your workouts with you or just be someone that checks in and makes sure you are following through on your commitment. Whatever their role, you will find that having someone watch over you will help you reach your goals in no time.
- Personal trainer - Speaking of accountability partners, you can't get any better than hiring a personal trainer! This is someone that will not accept any of your excuses and will safely push you to your limits. If you want some serious results and find it difficult to get in the right frame of mind while working out, a personal trainer may be the best option for you!
