4 Areas to Work to Look Slim and Trim
We all want to look slim and trim. To achieve this, we do things like running, yoga, and lifting weights. While all of these can certainly help, looking thin and toned requires some special attention to certain areas.
It is possible to still need to lose a few extra pounds and look trim at the same time. You just need to work on certain areas of the body to increase these chances. If you want to make your body look toned and slim and as fit as possible, check out these four areas to give some attention starting today.
The Obliques
These muscles are found along your side. They are technically a part of the abdominal muscles, but they take a little special attention to work thoroughly. These are important for a slim waistline, as working these will literally tone your love handles. When you diminish the love handles, you absolutely look slimmer. To work the obliques, look for side planks, side crunches, and similar abdominal exercises that you can feel along the side of your midsection.
The Calf Muscles
You don’t generally think about the calves when you are thinking about looking slim, but they really are important. Think about someone with large calves. Most likely, they don’t look slim elsewhere either. Slim and toned calf muscles make the entire leg look longer and leaner. To work the calf muscles, try heel raises. These can be done anywhere and will sculpt the area in no time.
The Triceps
When it comes to arms, everyone looks to the biceps. While this is an excellent tip, it is important to balance the arms. On the opposite side of the arm, like the triceps. If you work these muscles, your arm looks more tone all over. Instead of bulky biceps, you have an arm that is more balanced and tone in every area. To work the tris, try tricep dips off of a chair or with handheld weights.
The Glutes
Working the glutes will do more than give you a nice backside. It can also make you look slim. Working this area specifically will tone these muscles, which then helps to burn fat from the area. The more tone your derriere, the slimmer your body looks as a whole. To tone this area try squats, lunges, or any variations that come with these exercises.
Obtaining a slim and trim look is definitely possible. Even if you still need to lose a few pounds, you can give yourself a jump start by working on these areas. Use these exercises or many others to work the area, tone the body, and enjoy a nice toned, slim body in no time.
