Favorite Spa Closed? No Problem!
By Donna Stark
We all need to practice self-care from time to time and there is no better time to treat yourself with a little bit of love than now. But with the way this year has been going, your favorite spa or salon may not even be open. Fortunately, there is no reason to panic because you don't need a spa to treat yourself well. Here are some ideas on how to transform your home into your very own luxurious oasis. So luxurious, in fact, that you may not even miss leaving your home.
Stock up on Supplies
Before you can treat yourself to an at-home spa day, you need to pick up some essentials first! Things like essential oils, body butters, and lotions should definitely be on your shopping list as well as your favorite tea, snacks, or guilt-free desserts. Don't forget to pull out that book you've been meaning to read too!
Set the Mood
Whether you buy in bulk or you hand-select the nicest scent from your favorite boutique, candles are a great way to set the tone and mood of any room. Candles can instantly provide a warm glow and calming aroma, and come in a variety of options so you can choose whatever size or scent you like.
Take Care of Your Face
Nothing feels as good as a freshly cleaned face and you can get your "semi-professional" facial right at home! Face masks are one of the easiest ways to remove impurities and hydrate your skin. You can either stock up with some from your local store or you can try your hand at making your own. You will love how your face feels once you are done.
Soak Your Troubles Away
Go ahead. Light the candles, grab your book, fill up the tub with some hot water, and soak your troubles away. Throw in some Epsom salts to help with those sore muscles or splurge on some indulgent bubble bath loaded with nourishing vitamins and oils. And if you don't have a tub, just tie a bundle of lavender to the shower head to get a relaxing aroma.
Get Comfy and Cozy
No matter where you are, you can't have a spa day unless you are wearing the plushest of robes. Treat yourself to the softest and fluffiest one at the store and while you are at it, pick up a new pair of slippers too! It's the best way to give yourself a pedicure while staying comfy and cozy at the same time.
Showering Yourself With Self-Love
There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to a spa day every now and then, and it couldn't be any easier to recreate one at home if your favorite place is closed. So go ahead and indulge. You deserve it!
