Cold Temps and Your Back May Not Go Together Well

By Tom Herrin

Anytime the temperature drops, it can take some adjusting.  Even after we are well into the colder seasons, there may be a time in which you go out to begin your day without really doing much in the way of a warm-up activity.  This would allow the muscles to be well fed by the circulation, thus doing a little more towards preventing injuries.  Jumping into physical activity a little too fast may cause back pain.  If this happens to be the case with you, a visit to a chiropractor may restore your back to normal in a hurry.

The Back Manages Movement

As we do just about any kind of moving, our back does everything from keep us upright to help in lifting loads.  When we move our arms to work, they pivot from the back.  Whenever any of the muscles that support the back become strained, a joint dysfunction may occur in which pressure is placed on a nerve.  This causes pain.  Even though it may start as a seemingly minor pain, it may continue to grow and be quite nagging.  Pain medication may be of little help.  Pain management may be of no real help.  What you want is a resolution to the problem.

Chiropractors Deal With It

When people go to a chiropractor with back pain, they can expect to be examined and given an adjustment.  In this, the spine is gently manipulated so that the injured joint is restored to its optimal position.  This can take the pressure off of the nerve and relieve the pain.  It is all done naturally, so there is no risk of addiction or side effects.  With no impairment, the body is able to take over in the healing process as it is designed to do.  A return to normal daily activities may take place sooner.  Valuable time may be saved for those who can't afford to miss work or school.
