3 Ways Water is Changing You for the Better

By Genevieve Cunningham

Water. You need more water in your life than you probably realize. In fact, the advice to "drink more water" is on just about every healthy living plan. It's just so critical for long-term health. Once you finally start to drink more water on a regular basis, some positive changes are going to occur. But if you're not paying attention, you might miss them and give up. If you're not sure whether increasing your water intake is really working for you, take a look at these ways that your body and life are totally being changed for the better with more water.

It's Clearing Your Skin

When you start drinking enough water, your skin becomes beautifully clear. No, this isn't magic and it won't happen in every single situation. But for most people, more water clears out toxins and makes the skin glow. If you've noticed your skin looking nice, it might be the water you've been drinking. And if your skin is looking less than nice, maybe you should drink a little more.

It's Helping Your Digestion

Water helps move digestion, plain and simple. Your digestive tract soaks up the water that it needs, and pushes the rest through your body. This is why toxins seem to be fewer when we're drinking a lot of water. It's because the water literally helps to push them out -- through the skin and also through the digestive tract. If you struggle with digestive issues, drinking more water may get you moving in the right direction.

It's Helping You Focus

The brain needs water too. The synapses in the brain -- which is what allows communication to happen -- require water to function adequately. If you're not getting enough, you may notice an inability to concentrate or a slight state of confusion. Consuming more water can help keep the brain healthy, which then improves your ability to focus on the task at hand.

There's no excuse for not drinking water. We make plenty of excuses, but none of them are actually valid. We need it so much, and it brings so much good to our health and lives! Make water a priority in your diet and life, and you may notice significant improvements in the way you feel every day.
